Taking light from the house or crowding a path or drive.

Tidy boundaries that make a front garden look cared for.
A difficult boundary

How a hedge cut runs
Three steps, agreed with you before any work starts.
Step 1: Tell us the size and type
Roughly how long and how tall, and what it is. A photo helps.
Step 2: We check for nests and agree a height
We look for nesting birds and agree the finished height and width with you.
Step 3: We cut, clear and sweep
Clean lines, the clippings taken away and the paths swept.
Hedge cutting and reduction: your questions
Answers to what people ask us most about this job.
When should hedges be cut?
Most hedges are best cut in late summer, with a second cut in winter if they need it. We avoid the main nesting season, roughly March to August, unless we have checked the hedge and found no active nests.
Can you cut leylandii back hard?
We can take a lot off the height, but leylandii will not regrow from bare brown wood, so the sides only go back to where there is still green growth.
My neighbour’s hedge is too tall. What can I do?
Talk to them first. If that does not work, councils in England can look at complaints about evergreen hedges over two metres tall that block light, usually for a fee. We can only work on a hedge with its owner’s agreement.
Do you take the clippings away?
Yes, it is always included. Clippings are chipped or composted rather than sent to landfill.
